Playful Mindfulness Courses

Why Playful Mindfulness?

Mindfulness—paying attention to the present moment with curiosity and kindness—teaches you to savor life’s joys and respond more artfully to its challenges. But it need not remain a solemn or pious pursuit. Add in a healthy dose of play and its benefits get even more powerful: more confidence, deeper calm, greater connection, and more resilient joy.

Each of these courses will help you hold your focus, explore the world with curiosity and kindness and introduce a “mindful” pause between your reactions to the world and whatever response you choose. You’ll learn to communicate with greater clarity and compassion. And you’ll come to trust yourself and your experience–and step into the improvisational experience of life.

Intro to Playful Mindfulness: A Joyful Journey to Confidence, Calm, and Connection (live online, April-May 2021) — – change your relationship to so-called “failure”, learn to “play attention,” understand thoughts as events, and bring the mindful pause into everyday moments.

Playful Mindfulness 2: The Joy of Expanded Awareness (next start TBD) — grow your mindful awareness into the greater complexity of working and living with others, refine your awareness of posture by finding “Second Circle,” get the value of meta-perspectives and explore the power of positivity.

The Right to Speak: Finding and Freeing Your Natural Voice (next course online through Stanford Continuing Studies, Spring 2020)– come to understand how your body, breath, and personal presence affect the power of your spoken voice. Gain the satisfaction of finding and speaking with your most beautiful voice.

Mindful Communication: The Power of Relational Practice (live online, April-May 2021) — we cover most of the same material as in the Intro course described above. We just do it over one thrilling and fruitful weekend! A great option for those who need to travel greater distances to the course. Be mindful, though–the class often has a wait list!
